How to Shop Safely On Ebay
Thanks for visiting Art Deco Vase Deals. This website has taken over 700 eBay listings for Art Deco Vases and narrowed them down into categories that will make it easier for you to browse and find what you're looking for. I've spent the time doing this so you don't have to.
Ebay is an online auction website. Anyone can sign up to sell the items they no longer want. Some use it to clean out the attic, but others have large commercial stores with brand new products on their site.
The market place is huge and I can almost guarantee that if you put an item in the search box you will find it. Say you'd like to buy that game you remember playing as a kid and now you'd like to play it with your children. You've looked everywhere, searched garage sales and can't find it. Try eBay, I bet you'll find two or three at a reasonable price.
Ebay Registration
Ebay is easy to use. Once you have registered you can start to shop.
Ebay will need:
- Your contact and personal information, this includes your name, address, phone number and date of birth, which is required to verify that you are at least 18 years of age.
- Your email address
- Acceptance of the user agreement.
- Choose your unique User ID, a password and secret question.
Buy From a Safe Seller
Everyone selling on eBay must follow the rules or their listings will be removed. Ebay is very strict about this. Ebay works hard to protect customers and shut down scammers.

Comments are left by buyers after their transaction is completed. This is known as Seller Feedback. Going through the Seller's Feedback history will give you a good idea if it's safe to buy from that seller. If the seller has too many negative feedback ratings, it's best to stay away.
Check out my feedback score.
Read the seller's return policy and make sure you can live with it. Most seller's are honest, have a good return policy and list their item accurately.
Make sure you check the seller's shipping charges. Ebay has cracked down a great deal on seller's that charge way too much for shipping, even closing their accounts. Just make sure it's a reasonable price, an amount you wouldn't mind paying, before you bid.
Read the listing information fully, top to bottom, and take a good look at the pictures. If you have any questions, there is a link on every listing page to 'ask the seller a question'. Do this before you bid so you can be sure the item is what you're looking for.
It's FUN
Last of all, as I mentioned earlier, you will find that long lost item you've been looking for (and probably find more while you're looking!). You get a great thrill when you win that item you've been bidding on. Don't get too caught up in the bidding so that you end up paying too much.
Just like a live auction, set the highest price you'd pay and leave it at that. Ebay's system will automatically increase your per-item bid up to the maximum value you specify.
If bidding is a little too much thrill for you, keep an eye out for the 'buy it now' feature on a listing, that means you can purchase at the price listed right away so you won't have to bid or wait until the auction is over.
Since 1999, I have bought and sold over 1,500 items on eBay. It never gets boring and I've met some really nice people. I believe that 99.9% of the people that deal on eBay are honest. That's been my experience.
